Ingredients

Honey Simple Syrup
  • 0.75 cups honey your favorite honey
  • 0.75 cups water
Lemonade
  • 1 cups fresh lemon juice from about 8 to 10 lemons
  • 4 cups water to balance sweetness
  • ice crushed or cubed
  • lemon slices for garnish

Equipment

  • Small Saucepan
  • citrus juicer
  • Fine mesh sieve
  • Large pitcher

Method

Honey Simple Syrup Preparation
  1. In a small saucepan, combine ¾ cup of honey and ¾ cup of water over medium heat. Stir gently until the honey fully dissolves, which should take about 3–5 minutes.
  2. Once done, remove it from heat and allow the mixture to cool down completely.
Juicing Lemons
  1. Take about 8 to 10 fresh lemons and cut them in half. Using a citrus juicer or reamer, extract the juice until you have approximately 1 cup of vibrant lemon juice.
  2. Strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve to remove any seeds or pulp.
Combining Ingredients
  1. In a large pitcher, combine the cooled honey simple syrup with the 1 cup of lemon juice.
  2. Pour in 4 cups of cold water and stir well with a long spoon until thoroughly mixed.
Adjusting Sweetness
  1. Taste your Honey Lemonade. If you prefer it sweeter, add more honey simple syrup up to an additional ½ cup, stirring well after each addition.
Serving
  1. Fill glasses with ice cubes, then carefully pour the lemonade over the ice.
  2. Garnish with a fresh lemon slice on the rim if desired.
