Ingredients

For the Fudge Base
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk Essential for the fudge's soft texture; do not skip.
  • 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips Provides the main chocolate flavor; dark chocolate chips can be used for a richer taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Enhances the overall flavor profile.
For the Marshmallow Swirl
  • 2 cups Mini Marshmallows Contributes to the signature swirl and sweet texture; marshmallow fluff can be used for a twist.

Equipment

  • 8x8-inch baking pan
  • medium saucepan
  • Spatula
  • buttered knife

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Baking Pan: Start by taking an 8x8-inch baking pan and lining it with parchment paper, leaving some excess paper hanging over the edges for easy removal later.
  2. Melt the Chocolate Mixture: Combine the sweetened condensed milk and semi-sweet chocolate chips in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and fully melted.
  3. Add the Vanilla Extract: Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  4. Fold in the Marshmallows: Quickly fold in the mini marshmallows using a spatula, being careful not to completely melt them.
  5. Pour into the Pan: Pour the fudge mixture into your prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly into the corners.
  6. Cool and Set: Let the fudge cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes before transferring to the refrigerator. Allow to chill for at least 2 hours.
  7. Cut and Serve: Once set, use the parchment paper to lift the fudge out of the pan and cut it into 16 squares.
