  • ¼ cup Yellow Mustard Consider spicy brown mustard.
  • ¼ cup Honey Adjust to taste; maple syrup for vegan.
  • 2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar Other vinegars may alter flavor.
  • ¼ tsp Salt Adjust to taste.
  • tsp Black Pepper, freshly ground Optional but recommended.
  • 2 tbsp Water Use if sauce thickens too much.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Finely dice two medium jalapenos and mince one clove of garlic. Gather all ingredients.
  2. Heat two tablespoons of olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Sauté jalapenos for 5-7 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  3. Reduce heat to low. Stir in Dijon mustard, yellow mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Let the sauce simmer on low for 5-8 minutes, stirring occasionally to meld flavors.
  5. Remove from heat and cool slightly. If a thinner consistency is desired, whisk in water gradually.
  6. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate. Best if allowed to sit for a couple of hours or overnight.

Notes
