- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare your baking dish by greasing it lightly.
- Peel and slice sweet potatoes into thin rounds. Boil in water for 10-15 minutes until tender. Drain and cool.
- Layer half of the sweet potato slices in the baking dish, then add half of the cranberries on top.
- Mix heavy cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Pour half over the layered sweet potatoes and cranberries.
- Repeat the layering with remaining sweet potatoes and cranberries, then pour the remaining cream mixture on top.
- Sprinkle shredded Gruyère cheese and breadcrumbs over the top.
- Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
