- In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce and cornstarch, stirring gently to mix. Add the peeled and deveined shrimp, tossing them until thoroughly coated. Allow the shrimp to marinate for about 10 minutes.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and freshly grated ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant and lightly golden.
- Add the marinated shrimp to the pan in a single layer, cooking undisturbed for 1-2 minutes until pink and opaque. Flip over and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Once the shrimp are cooked, pour in the honey and sprinkle with optional chili flakes. Toss everything together gently and cook for another minute or two until the sauce thickens.
- Transfer the honey garlic shrimp to a serving platter. Sprinkle with sliced green onions for garnish. Serve over rice or as an appetizer.
