Ingredients

For the Kabobs
  • 1 tube Refrigerated biscuit dough Homemade can enhance freshness.
  • 1 large Egg Used for egg wash; a milk wash can be a dairy-free substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon Water Mixed with the egg for the egg wash.
  • 20 pieces Large strawberries Other berries or fruits like peaches can be swapped in.
  • 1 tub (8 oz) Cool Whip Consider using homemade whipped cream for a richer taste.
  • White sugar Brown sugar can offer a hint of molasses flavor.
  • 20 pieces Skewers Bamboo or metal skewers are both great options.

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Cookie Cutter
  • Whisk

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
  2. Roll out each piece of refrigerated biscuit dough into a 5-inch circle.
  3. Cut out 7 smaller circles (about 1.5 inches) from the rolled biscuit dough using a cookie cutter.
  4. Place the biscuit circles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Whisk together the egg and 1 tablespoon of water to create an egg wash. Brush this mixture over each biscuit circle and sprinkle a light dusting of white sugar on top.
  6. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes until puffed and lightly browned.
  7. Transfer the biscuits to a cooling rack and allow them to cool completely.
  8. On each skewer, start with a biscuit, add a fresh strawberry, followed by a spoonful of Cool Whip. Repeat this layering until you've added a third biscuit on top.
  9. Arrange your finished kabobs on a decorative platter.
