Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Press tofu for 15 minutes, then tear into 1-inch chunks.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine tofu, tamari, cooking oil, cornstarch, and seasonings, tossing gently.
  3. Spread tofu on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together miso paste, brown sugar, tamari, and mirin. Add warm water to achieve desired consistency.
  5. Sauté scallions, garlic, ginger, and chilies in a skillet for 3-4 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Add miso sauce to sautéed aromatics, and simmer for 5 minutes. Thicken with cornstarch slurry if desired.
  7. Gently combine baked tofu with the miso sauce, simmering for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  8. Serve Sticky Miso Tofu over rice, quinoa, or in lettuce wraps.
