Step-by-Step Instructions
- Prepare rice or steam broccoli as a complement to the Sesame Tofu.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C). Crumble the tofu into 1/2 to 1 inch pieces, spread on baking sheet, drizzle with oil, sprinkle with salt, and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- In a medium saucepan, combine maple syrup, tamari or soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and garlic. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry. Add to sauce while stirring until it thickens for about 3 minutes.
- Combine crispy tofu with the thickened sauce in a large bowl, gently tossing to coat the tofu well.
- Serve the Sesame Tofu with rice and steamed broccoli. Garnish with green onions if desired.

Notes
Pressing tofu for 10-15 minutes removes moisture for a crispier finish. Adjust the sauce sweetness and spice to your taste. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
