Ingredients
  

For the Tea
  • 1 cup filtered water for boiling
  • 2 bags green tea or loose leaf
For the Mint Mixture
  • 10 leaves fresh mint leaves preferably spearmint
  • 1.5 tablespoons sugar or a sugar substitute
  • 2 limes fresh limes cut into wedges
For Serving
  • 2 cups ice cubes large cubes preferred

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Boil 1 cup of filtered water and steep half the mint leaves for 5 minutes.
  2. Add green tea bags to the hot mint water and steep for 3 minutes, then strain the tea into a heatproof pitcher.
  3. Combine strained mint tea with 1 cup of cold water, stir, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Prepare glasses by placing lime wedges and sugar, muddle together gently.
  5. Add remaining mint leaves, muddle to release flavors.
  6. Fill glasses with ice and pour chilled mint tea over the ice.
  7. Garnish with additional mint leaves and lime slices, then serve immediately.
