Ingredients

For the Salad
  • 2 Freestone Peaches Choose ripe peaches that yield slightly to pressure.
  • 1 whole Seedless Watermelon Select a heavy melon with a golden spot for best flavor.
  • 1 handful Fresh Mint Spearmint works best, basil can be used as an alternative.
For Seasoning
  • 1 pinch Sea Salt Use sparingly to avoid overpowering the salad.
  • 1 pinch Black Pepper Crack fresh for optimal taste; omit for a milder experience.
  • 1-2 tablespoons Lemon or Lime Juice Adjust to taste; olive oil can be optional.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Sharp Knife
  • Chopping board

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Wash the freestone peaches under cool running water and slice them into wedges or bite-sized pieces, keeping the skin on if desired.
  2. Slice a seedless watermelon in half and cube it into 1-inch pieces, removing any seeds. Add to the bowl with peaches.
  3. Rinse fresh mint leaves under cold water, pat dry, then chop or tear to release oils. Sprinkle over the watermelon and peach mixture.
  4. Sprinkle sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper over the fruit and mint, and gently toss to combine.
  5. Drizzle lemon or lime juice over the salad, and toss gently to combine all ingredients.
  6. Chill the salad in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
