Step-by-Step Instructions for Strawberry Iced Tea
  1. Wash and slice 2 cups of fresh strawberries, then combine in a medium saucepan with 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of water. Cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until the strawberries soften and it becomes syrupy. Strain the syrup through a mesh sieve into a bowl and let cool completely.
  2. In a separate pot, bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and steep 3-4 black tea bags for approximately 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags, stir in 1/4 cup of granulated sugar until dissolved, and let it cool.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine the cooled strawberry syrup and brewed tea. Pour in the syrup, followed by the brewed tea, then add 2 cups of cold water. Stir in 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  4. Fill tall glasses with ice cubes and pour the Strawberry Iced Tea over it. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and sliced strawberries before serving.
