Step-by-Step Instructions for Strawberry Iced Tea
- Wash and slice 2 cups of fresh strawberries, then combine in a medium saucepan with 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of water. Cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until the strawberries soften and it becomes syrupy. Strain the syrup through a mesh sieve into a bowl and let cool completely.
- In a separate pot, bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and steep 3-4 black tea bags for approximately 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags, stir in 1/4 cup of granulated sugar until dissolved, and let it cool.
- In a large pitcher, combine the cooled strawberry syrup and brewed tea. Pour in the syrup, followed by the brewed tea, then add 2 cups of cold water. Stir in 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Fill tall glasses with ice cubes and pour the Strawberry Iced Tea over it. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and sliced strawberries before serving.
