Step-by-Step Instructions for Orange Cream Cheese Mints
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 8 ounces of softened cream cheese and 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Use a hand mixer on medium speed to blend until creamy and smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Gradually add 2 cups of sifted powdered sugar to the mixture, mixing on low speed then increasing to medium until thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 2 tablespoons of orange juice, and the zest of one orange. Mix until thoroughly combined, about 1 minute.
  4. Divide the mixture and add a few drops of food coloring to one half. Swirl gently for a marbled effect.
  5. Prepare your silicone mold by dusting with powdered sugar or cornstarch.
  6. Spoon the mixture into the molds, pressing gently for an even fill and smoothing the tops.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set firmly.
  8. Carefully remove the mints from the molds and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
