  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional) Adjust to taste preference.
  • Salt & pepper to taste
For the Sauce and Cheese
  • 1 jar Alfredo sauce (15 oz) Consider homemade Alfredo sauce for that personal touch.
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Position the oven rack in the top third.
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook for 8–10 minutes, until just short of al dente.
  3. Place an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook for approximately 8 minutes until browned.
  4. Stir in minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Lower the heat, pour in the Alfredo sauce and half of the mozzarella. Stir until combined and heated through.
  6. Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet, tossing until the pasta is coated with the meat and sauce mixture.
  7. Spread the mixture evenly in the skillet. Top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake uncovered for about 10 minutes until bubbly and golden on top. Broil for 1-2 minutes if desired.
  9. Let sit for a few minutes before serving warm.
