Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Position the oven rack in the top third.
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook for 8–10 minutes, until just short of al dente.
- Place an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook for approximately 8 minutes until browned.
- Stir in minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Lower the heat, pour in the Alfredo sauce and half of the mozzarella. Stir until combined and heated through.
- Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet, tossing until the pasta is coated with the meat and sauce mixture.
- Spread the mixture evenly in the skillet. Top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- Bake uncovered for about 10 minutes until bubbly and golden on top. Broil for 1-2 minutes if desired.
- Let sit for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes
To enhance creaminess, reserve some pasta water before draining and add a splash to the mixture before baking.
