- Begin by cutting the acorn squash in half, scooping out the seeds and inner fibers with a spoon. Slice each half into wedges about 1-inch thick.
- Preheat your grill to a temperature between 400–450°F for direct cooking.
- Place the acorn squash wedges directly over the heat on the grill and grill each wedge for about 3-5 minutes.
- Once all wedges are charred, carefully transfer them to a cooler part of the grill to cook through gently.
- In a small bowl, combine melted butter and maple syrup, stirring until well blended, then brush it over each wedge.
- After 30 minutes, check the doneness of your grilled squash; it should reach about 208°F internally.
