  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice fresh juice preferred
For the Crumble Topping
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour or gluten-free flour
  • 1/2 cup Cold Butter kept cold until use
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder check for freshness
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt reduce for low-sodium diets
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream or half-and-half

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and butter a 9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine cornstarch, lemon juice, and white sugar, stirring until it thickens, about 3–5 minutes. Fold in strawberries and transfer to the baking dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until coarse crumbs form. Stir in heavy cream.
  4. Sprinkle the topping over the strawberry filling and bake for about 25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
  5. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
