Step-by-Step Instructions for Oreo Dream Cheesecake
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate and ½ cup of unsalted butter over low heat, stirring until smooth. In a mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of granulated sugar and 3 large eggs until well blended. Gradually stir in the melted chocolate mixture, followed by 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Pour into a greased 9-inch springform pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- While the cake layer is cooling, beat 16 oz of cream cheese and 1 cup of granulated sugar until creamy. Mix in 1 cup of sour cream and 3 eggs until smooth. Gently fold in 12 chopped Oreos. Pour this mixture over the cooled chocolate cake layer. Bake in a water bath at 325°F (160°C) for about 1 hour.
- Allow the cheesecake to cool in the pan for at least 1 hour, then transfer it to the refrigerator to chill for several hours or overnight.
- Beat 2 cups of heavy whipping cream with ½ cup of powdered sugar until stiff peaks form, then fold in 4 oz of melted white chocolate. Spread the mousse evenly over the cooled cheesecake.
- For ganache, heat 1 cup of heavy whipping cream until simmering, then pour over 8 oz of semi-sweet chocolate. Let it sit for 5 minutes to melt, then whisk until smooth. Spread over the mousse layer.
- Decorate with crushed Oreos. Chill for another 2-3 hours. Remove the sides of the springform pan and slice with a warmed knife to serve.
