- Press the firm tofu for 30 minutes to remove excess moisture.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare your baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the pressed tofu into triangles or preferred shapes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together soy milk, flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Coat each tofu piece with the batter, then roll them in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Bake the coated tofu pieces on the prepared sheet for 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Toss the tofu pieces in vegan BBQ sauce and bake for another 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven, brush with any remaining BBQ sauce, and allow to cool slightly before serving.
