Cooking Instructions
  1. Start by boiling a large pot of salted water over high heat. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pot, add the chopped bacon and heat over medium-high until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels, leaving 1 tablespoon of grease in the pot.
  3. Add cubed chicken to the same pot, seasoned with salt and pepper. Sauté over medium heat for 6-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  4. Toss in minced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add minced garlic and stir for another minute.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, then add sour cream, cream cheese, ranch dressing mix, and crispy bacon. Stir together and bring to a gentle boil for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Fold in cheddar cheese and cooked penne until everything is combined and cheese is melted, about 3-5 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately.
