  • 1 inch Fresh Ginger Sliced.
  • 4 whole Cloves Provides warm spice note.
  • 1 tablespoon Coconut Sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
Garnish (Optional)
  • 1 pinch Ground Cinnamon Adds warmth.
  • 1 piece Star Anise Enhances visual appeal.

Method
 

Chai Preparation
  1. Boil 1½ cups of water in a medium-sized pot over medium-high heat. Once boiling, add cinnamon stick, crushed cardamom pods, sliced fresh ginger, and whole cloves. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Add black tea leaves or bags to the pot. Stir and steep for 3 to 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  3. Pour in 1 cup of coconut milk and return it to low heat. Stir well and heat through for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Add coconut sugar to taste, stirring until dissolved.
  5. Strain the mixture into cups, discarding solids, and serve hot or over ice.
Serving Suggestions
  1. Garnish with a pinch of ground cinnamon or star anise, if desired.
  2. Serve immediately hot or chill for an iced version.
