Step-by-Step Instructions for Chicken Bacon Ranch Casserole
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and position the rack in the top third.
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta for one minute less than the package instructions indicate.
  3. While the pasta is cooking, cut the bacon into small pieces and fry over medium heat until crispy, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. With the pasta in the casserole dish, pour the Alfredo sauce over and sprinkle the ranch seasoning. Stir to coat evenly, folding in the shredded chicken and half the cooked bacon.
  5. Smooth the pasta mixture into an even layer and top with mozzarella cheese and remaining bacon.
  6. Bake uncovered for about 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and starting to turn golden. Optionally, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes.
