- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the manicotti shells in a large pot of salted boiling water for about 6-7 minutes until al dente, drain and cool.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage with diced onion for about 8 minutes.
- Add minced garlic, sauté for 1 minute, and mix in marinara sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Combine ricotta, 1 cup mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl until smooth.
- Spread half the meat sauce in a baking dish, fill the manicotti shells, and place them seam-side down.
- Top with remaining meat sauce and sprinkle with rest of mozzarella. Cover with foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes, uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese is golden.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
