Cooking Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add your chosen short pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Whisk in 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour until light golden, about 1 minute.
- Gradually pour in 2 cups of heavy cream while whisking. Stir for 3-4 minutes until thickened. Mix in 8 ounces of Boursin cheese and 1 cup of white cheddar.
- Add the drained pasta to the cheese sauce and stir gently to coat. Let it rest for a few minutes.
- In a skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and sauté 3/4 cup of breadcrumbs until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Transfer the pasta mixture to a greased baking dish, sprinkle the breadcrumbs on top, and serve immediately or broil for 2-3 minutes.
