  • 1 cup Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice Approx. 4-6 lemons needed for juice
  • 20 grams Fresh Basil Leaves
  • 100 grams Sugar or Honey Could substitute with agave syrup or sugar substitute
  • 2 cups Filtered Water No substitutions needed

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Lemon Juice. Start by squeezing enough fresh lemons to yield 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Strain through a sieve.
  2. Step 2: Combine Ingredients. In a mixing bowl, combine lemon juice, sugar or honey, and water. Whisk until dissolved, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Step 3: Chill the Mixture. Pour the mixture into a shallow baking dish. Place in the freezer for 1 hour.
  4. Step 4: Scrape to Form Granita. After 1 hour, scrape mixture with a fork and return to the freezer, scraping every 30 minutes for 2-3 hours.
  5. Step 5: Serve and Enjoy. Once fluffy, scoop into bowls and serve, optionally over vanilla ice cream.
